Just Say “No”

Saying "no" is tough. Isn't it funny that a word so small is one of the hardest to say?

But perspective is everything. Here’s the truth: Saying “no” doesn’t make you mean, indifferent, or prideful. It simply means you’re clear about your priorities.

Saying “no” does:

  • Align your actions with God’s priorities.

  • Keep you realistic about what’s possible.

  • Give you the focus to scale your work.

  • Protect your time, energy, spiritual and mental well-being.

Remember, every “yes” is a “no” to something else. Struggling to say “no” could be the very thing holding back your leadership development.

Tips for saying “no”:

  • Offer alternatives when possible.

  • You don’t owe anyone an excuse—honesty is enough.

  • Resist the urge to fabricate reasons. Just say “no”.
